DSATools TSAT 16.0

DSATools TSAT is Powertech Labs Inc.’s time-domain simulation engine for transient stability and dynamic security assessment of electric power systems. As part of the DSATools suite, TSAT models system behavior following disturbances—such as faults, switching events, and loss of generation or transmission—to help utilities, ISOs, and planners evaluate stability limits, identify critical contingencies, and design effective remedial actions. Built for large-scale networks, it supports both offline planning studies and integration into online assessment environments.

Key capabilities include:

• Detailed dynamic modeling of generators, exciters, governors, power system stabilizers, dynamic loads, FACTS devices, HVDC links, and renewable resources.
• Automated contingency analysis with batch processing, screening and ranking of scenarios, and estimation of critical clearing times.
